I.1 GENERAL INFORMATION
§ Deadline for COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS closes on Wednesday 16th January 2013 at 12pm. Therefore all
applications should reach the Ministry of Education (MOE) by the given date and time.
§ All information supplied will be kept CONFIDENTIAL and will be used for MOE purposes only.
§ Applicants may apply for an award in the following primary national Human Resources Development priority areas for
§ Culture, Creative Industries
§ Marine Resources/Fisheries
Other areas may be considered
I.2 COOK ISLANDS GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION (one award available for 2013)
§ The purpose of this scholarship is to help you complete your current programme of tertiary studies so that you can assist in
the social and economic development of the Cook Islands on your return home at the completion of your studies.
§ At the time of applying to this scheme you as the applicant or student will have completed a minimum equivalent of one full
academic year at a tertiary institute and have attained a B grade average or better.
§ This scholarship has tenure of 2 years of which your qualification is to be completed within that time to be eligible for the
award. Awards will be for full time undergraduate studies in New Zealand; postgraduate studies may be considered.
I.3 OVERSEAS STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND INFORMATION
§ Cook Islanders who are privately pursuing tertiary studies overseas may apply for assistance for tuition fees on a
§ Reimbursement will only be payable for a portion of the tuition fees for those subjects or papers passed during the calendar
year 2012. You will need to provide your results and original valid evidence showing your university logo for payment of
tuition fees; i.e. your tertiary institute receipts, enrolment record, statement, etc showing tuition cost for each subject or
§ The minimum payment to be received by any student is determined according to the number of eligible applicants and
availability of funds; that amount shall be reviewed from time to time.
